Partners in Vision
What is partners in vision?
A way for churches to advance ministry and mission through innovative and sustainable redevelopment of church properties to meet local community needs like affordable housing, community and economic development.
First thingS first: Identify your church’s purpose within your community.
What’s your mission?
Why?
The pews may not be full every Sunday, but people still crave community.
The 21st-century church has to find new ways to provide that.
Faith-led real estate development projects are the answer.
How?
Through Partners in Vision (PIV), we’ve helped transform churches and their properties into:
Vibrant community facilities
Quality affordable housing
Safe spaces for youth, families, and older adults
“In this critical time, there is a great urgency to show up as the transformational presence.”
Are you ready to transform your church to transform your community?
Pre-Application
Send us your completed PIV pre-application (PIV-1) and we will schedule a free 60-minute consultation.
Your PIV-1 will provide us with basic information about your proposed project and ensure that you have a clear sense of how the project advances the mission of your church.
If we believe you could benefit from more reflection, we’ll refer you to our Capacity Building Services before prompting you to complete the PIV application.
Apply
Complete the official PIV application.
Please give us two to three weeks to review your application.
Once we receive your application, we will schedule a call to discuss your proposed project and provide you with additional information about the PIV Program. If your church is a fit for our program, we will discuss our staff’s recommendations on next steps for your project, services that CB&LF can provide to support you, and a proposed timeline and budget.
Our Services
Once your church has been accepted into PIV, our expert staff will conduct an Assessment and Feasibility Analysis to understand existing conditions of your property and (re)development potential in your community.
Areas to analyze include:
Community needs and opportunities
Existing regulations, restrictions, and development potential
Market conditions
Local initiatives, priorities & funding availability
From there, we’ll move forward with one of the following three program structures:
-

Reviewing project related studies, applications, agreements, budgets & schedules
Coordinating activities with external professionals (architects, contractors etc.)
Facilitating the construction and permanent loan closings
… and much more
-
The Church partners with a developer.
Along the way, CB&LF staff will be readily available to:
Develop and implement a mission-aligned process for selecting a developer
Support negotiations on a development agreement
Review plans, budgets, and schedules
Facilitate the construction and permanent loan closings
Serve as your church’s Owners’ Representative (optional)
… and much more
-
